Franklin University and SCORE Central Ohio partner to offer Advisory Boards

Franklin University and SCORE  have partnered to offer Advisory Boards to small- and medium- sized businesses who want to improve their current business conditions and plan for the future.

SCORE and Franklin University are currently recruiting advisors with business experience willing to donate a few hours per month to assist business owners who request assistance.

How the program will work:

• This is a FREE program.  All Advisory Board members serve on a voluntary basis offering a helping hand that every business can use.

• Potential Advisors and Potential Business Candidates must complete and submit a questionnaire to the Columbus SCORE office.  The forms are available here: [pdf] Advisor Application  (view as html)[pdf]   (view as html)and [pdf] Application for Potential Business Candidates  (view as html) - Email completed application to SCORE at info@scorecolumbus.org.

• After receiving the questionnaire, potential advisors and businesses will be scheduled for an interview.

• Advisors will be selected from a broad range of business backgrounds and a variety of professions - accounting, legal, marketing, human resources, engineering, technology, etc.

• An experienced SCORE counselor will serve as Chair of each Advisory Board with Franklin University Alumni (with appropriate expertise) participating on each Board.

• Advisory Board Members are expected to serve for one year; monthly meetings with qualifying businesses will typically last 1-3 hours.

• Specific goals for each qualifying business will be established by the business and the appointed Advisory Board.

• The Advisory Board members are not responsible for implementation of advice given during monthly meetings.  It is the responsibility of the business owner to evaluate and implement any advice offered.
